SEATTLE — JULY 28, 2026: Indicio has appointed Michael Zureik as Strategic Advisor for Global Sales. Zureik joins as demand for Indicio’s digital identity platform, Indicio Proven®, accelerates across financial services and payments, travel and hospitality, and identity for AI systems.
The appointment reflects global momentum in decentralized identity adoption, from the European Union’s mandated provision of a digital identity wallet for each citizen, resident, and business by the end of 2026, to the U.S. Treasury’s March report which highlighted verifiable credentials as foundational financial infrastructure. Indicio Proven, recognized by Frost & Sullivan for innovation in digital identity, is built for this global shift away from passwords, shared databases, and document checks and toward interoperable credentials that can seamlessly verify identity and other claims without revealing the underlying data. This is a market that is arriving fast and Zureik’s appointment is about turning that demand into deployments that deliver measurable value at scale.
Michael spent a large part of his career inside the Canadian federal government, leading major identity programs across immigration, financial intelligence, and aviation security. This culminated in five years spent as Transformation Architect at the Canada Border Services Agency, where he co-authored Canada’s Travel Modernization strategy, expanded biometric processing to 56 ports, and worked on Known Traveller Digital Identity, the first travel program built on an ICAO Digital Travel Credential.
He then joined SITA as Head of Digital Strategy & Partnerships, setting digital identity and travel strategy for the global aviation industry across ICAO, IATA, and international forums.

Zureik represents Canada on the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 17 committee which defines the international standards for ICAO digital travel credentials and mobile driver’s licenses (mDL), sits on the board of the Future Borders Coalition, and is a regular speaker at ICAO TRIP, Identity Week, Passenger Terminal Expo, and Phocuswright.
He joins Indicio’s advisory bench that includes, Tom Plofchan, former Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Pangiam; Will Groah, a successful entrepreneur, and investor who also sits on Indicio’s board; Ajay Srivastava, who led transformation programs at PwC, KPMG, and Lockheed Martin.
