Henn brings 35 years of experience in drilling and energy production technology as Indicio expands its platform, Indicio Proven®, to industrial operations with verifiable credentials for oil and gas workers.
SEATTLE, September 22, 2026 — Indicio welcomes Bill Henn as Strategic Advisor to support the expansion of Indicio Proven® solutions in the energy sector to manage access and clearances in offline and restricted areas of operations.
A Houston-based energy executive, Henn brings deep operational expertise anchored by nearly a decade as a Vice President at Halliburton. His leadership spans management, innovation, and business development across the full lifecycle of drilling, completions, and production. Most recently acting as a Strategic Technical Advisor, Henn has a proven track record of helping operator and service companies integrate digital technologies into high-stakes, pressure-critical operations.
“Bill has spent his career bringing new tech to industries where safety is everything,” said Heather Dahl, CEO of Indicio. “He knows exactly what operators need to see before they’ll trust a new solution with their people and in restricted areas. Indicio Proven is already used in highly regulated border and travel environments to transform security and compliance. Now, Bill’s expertise is going to be invaluable in bringing that same trusted framework to field sites, terminals, and rigs.”
Why oil and gas has a workforce-credential problem
“Every operator I’ve worked with across oil and gas has the same paper-based problem and thought they just had to live with it,” said Henn. “Hundreds of people from a dozen employers on one site, with everyone’s certifications stored in someone else’s system, and the only way to check is to call and ask. Indicio has already solved this for travel and borders without forcing companies to build a database of people’s faces.”
Henn also noted that Indicio’s solution will be critical as wellsite technology evolves.
“The industry is rapidly introducing AI and self-driving systems into operations, and each machine will need a verifiable identity and a clear scope of what it’s allowed to do,” Henn added. “Indicio was built for that, too, and is exactly what I want to see running at a site.”
How Indicio Proven verifies workers at the gate
The Indicio Proven platform turns a worker’s smartphone or a wearable into a secure, tamper-proof digital badge. By storing cryptographically-signed credentials directly on the device, it mitigates the risks of forged documents and borrowed IDs and proves the worker is cleared to work.
- Tied to the individual: Credentials are tied to the worker’s on-device biometrics, confirming that the person presenting it is the one it was issued to This data never leaves their phone or wearable.
- Instant authentication: When presented at a gate or kiosk, the system instantly confirms the certification is from a trusted issuer and hasn’t been altered — without calling the issuer or checking a central database.
- Shows only what’s needed: A worker can prove a single fact, a valid BOSIET or fit-to-work status, without exposing the rest of their record.
- Real-time revocation: If a certification lapses, it is invalidated immediately—stopping non-compliant workers at the gate or before they leave for a helipad rather than waiting for an audit to discover the lapse
- Built for the field: Verification runs seamlessly offline via Bluetooth or NFC, ensuring access control works even at remote sites with zero connectivity.
- Portable across employers and sites: The worker carries one credential from job to job and operator to operator. No re-enrolment, and no calling another company’s system to check. The proof travels with the worker, and any authorized site can read it.
- No central database to breach: Credentials and biometrics stay on the worker’s device, so there’s no store of identities or faces for an operator to hold, secure, or answer for if it leaks.
