Tokyo, Japan – November 26, 2025 — Indicio, a global leader in decentralized identity and Verifiable Credentials, announced today that it has been accepted into the Japan External Trade Organization’s (JETRO) J-Bridge program, marking another milestone in the company’s expanding presence in Japan.
The J-Bridge Program, supported by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), is designed to help innovative international companies establish and scale their presence in Japan. It will provide Indicio with access to JETRO’s comprehensive business support infrastructure.
Indicio is already helping Japan meet the growing market demand for secure, interoperable, and user-controlled identity verification through its commercial partnerships with NEC, Dai Nippon Printing (DNP), Digital Knowledge Co., and Nippon RAD to provide Indicio Proven® to a wide range of sectors.
Indicio Proven is a decentralized identity platform for creating reusable and interoperable government-grade digital identity with globally-interoperable Verifiable Credentials and digital wallets.
Customers across travel and hospitality banking and finance, and public services are using Indicio Proven to eliminate manual verification, improve efficiency, and to protect users from surging identity fraud, including social engineering scams and deepfakes.
What makes Indicio Proven uniquely powerful is that it lets customers create digital identity credentials that combine authenticated biometrics and document validation, then present these credentials anywhere for instant, seamless authentication to over 15,000 identity documents from 254 countries and territories, combine them with face mapping and liveness checks, and turn that verified information into portable Verifiable Credentials in any major credential format.
Credentials created with Indicio Proven follow global standards, including the European Union’s Digital Identity framework (EUDI) and digital wallet guidelines. Proven also makes it easy to combine different credential types in a single, seamless workflow managed from a single digital wallet.
“We’ve had tremendous interest from leading Japanese companies in our technology and this has led to dynamic and exciting partnerships and collaboration,” said Heather Dahl, CEO of Indicio. “So we are both honored to be accepted into JETRO’s J-Bridge program and eager to expand our presence in Japan. We have much to learn from Japan’s rich tradition in technology innovation and vibrant, world-leading companies and industries — and we believe we have much to contribute to creating a new era of digital transformation based around decentralized identity, portable, cryptographic trust, and data privacy.”
